Autumn Concert 2026 Troost

Saturday evening, November 28, 8:00 PM
Leids Kamerkoor, conductor Dody Soetanto
Marekerk, Lange Mare 48, Leiden

The unknown, beautiful Requiem Pizzetti is at the center of this autumn concert Comfort by the Leids Kamerkoor under the direction of Dody Soetanto. The composition is a cappella – that is, without instrumental accompaniment. This gives the choir’s sound an extra dimension and gives this requiem a more intimate and moving character. The requiem sections are interspersed with short works on the same theme by other composers from the periods of the Renaissance to the present day. This makes for a varied program, with, as usual, a pleasant after-party for choir and audience at the end.

Program

Ildebrando Pizzetti: Requiem Mass
Johannes Brahms: From the dark womb of the holy earth
Josu Elberdin: Sing to the Lord
Anna Lapwood: O Light Born
Orlando di Lasso: In the midst of life
Felix Mendelssohn Blessed are the dead
Cristóbal de Morales: Lux Aeterna
Josef Rheinberger: Evening song
